Lopez Island is a great place to enjoy the island way of life, from kayaking and hiking to fishing and whale watching. The island is a bicyclist’s paradise and a beachcomber’s dream. Be prepared to wave as the locals do, because Lopez is known as the “Friendly Isle.” The island is 15 miles long and 8 miles wide with 2,200 year-round residents. These adventures await you on Lopez Island, the "Jewel of the San Juan Islands."

Nestled beside Fisherman Bay, Lopez Village is the compact, commercial hub of the island, about 4 miles from the ferry landing, where you can easily stroll among a variety of shops and galleries, coffee shops, a bakery, and restaurants, as well as a fully-stocked grocery store, pharmacy, and organic grocery. Lopez Village Park has public restrooms, showers, and picnic tables where you can adjust to island time, relax, and enjoy a coffee and one of the residents' favorites—a cinnamon roll from Holly B’s Bakery.

Wander a little farther south along Fisherman Bay and enjoy a few more restaurant choices with beautiful bayside views, marinas, bike and kayak rentals, and accommodations. Continue about three miles south on Fisherman Bay Road and experience the 1887-built Center Church and the pioneer Union Cemetery with vistas across rolling farmland.
