Art Opening: Texiles and Fiber Art

Calling all textile and fiber artists – This show is for you! Textile artworks use plant, animal, or man-made fibers to make practical or decorative objects, or a combination of both. Materials such as cotton, wool, silk, acrylic, nylon, rayon, and polyester are utilized through weaving, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, and felting to create not only gorgeous works of art but practical every-day items as well. Community shows are open to ALL island artists, beginning and experienced alike. The purpose is to showcase island art and celebrate our creative neighbors! To exhibit in a community show, an artist needs to come on the Installation Day (for this show, February 12th) with their artwork ready to be displayed or hung.
