In 2007, Danny Sherrard won the Individual National Poetry Slam becoming the youngest person to win such a title. In 2008, Sherrard won France's Poetry World Cup where he competed against national champions from 15 countries. Sherrard has been on two Seattle poetry slam teams (2007, 2008) and was on the 2009 HawaiiSlam team. In 2010 Danny toured with the spoken word group the Spilljoy Ensemble and has led poetry and performance workshops across the US, Canada, Europe, and Mexico.
Danny Sherrard is the founder of the Island Verse Literary Collective, a non-profit created to honor the island voices of the Pacific Northwest. Sherrard's first poetry anthology, Cast Your Eyes like River Stones into the Exquisite Dark, is set to be released through Write Bloody Publishing!
