Free Film Screening: SHORTS BLOCK

Join us for a FREE screening of three award-winning short documentaries, followed by a live Q&A with filmmakers and special guests. Short Documentary Films Include: Managed to Extinction (16 mins | 2024) An orca scientist and indigenous leader team up to tackle extinction threats in the Pacific Northwest. Facing the Falls (33 mins | 2023) Disability advocate Cara Elizabeth Yar Khan braves a daring Grand Canyon expedition while battling a fatal disease. Range Rider (29 mins | 2022) A range rider strives to balance rancher-wolf coexistence in Washington State’s wilderness. Q&A Guests: Dr. Deborah Giles (in person) Director Celia Aniskovich (livestream) Daniel Curry (livestream) This screening is part of Friday Harbor Film Festival’s Best of the Fest Series, sponsored by The Journal of the San Juan Islands.
