San Juan Island's own Thor Hanson presents his new book Close to Home: The Wonders of Nature Just Outside Your Door. He is an engaging speaker, with excellent graphics illustrating his examples, as well as charming anecdotes. Hanson is the author of 5 other natural history books including Feathers: The Evolution of a Natural Miracle, Buzz: The Nature and Necessity of Bees, The Triump of Seeds, and Hurricane Lizards and Plastic Squid,as well as the new children's book Star and the Maestro.
