Fueled by a mix of inspiration, love for the planet, and a longing to dance with jellyfish costumes once again to celebrate our communities—both human and non-human—in these chaotic times, a group of Lopezians (led by Andrew Munson, Chom Greacen, and Nikyta Palmisani) put our heads and hearts together to launch the very first Earth Day Lopez Month.
We’re deeply grateful to Earth Day Orcas Month for their inspiration and support—special thanks to Marcy Montgomery for her encouragement. We also want to honor Nick Teague and Amanda Wedow for the brilliance and spirit they brought in introducing the Procession of the Species and helping it become a rejuvenating part of our cultural fabric here on Lopez Island.
